Fixed some format strings for portability. * Fixed compilation issues with res_timing_kqueue (although tests still fail on OS X). * Fixed menuconfig /sbin/launchd detection, which disables res_timing_kqueue on OS X). Matthew Jordan	f6809b01df	channels/sip/reqresp_parser: Fix unit tests for r426594 When r426594 was made, it did not take into account a unit test that verified that the function properly populated the unsupported buffer. The function would previously memset the buffer if it detected it had any contents; since this function can now be called iteratively on successive headers, the unit tests would now fail. This patch updates the unit tests to reset the buffer themselves between successive calls, and updates the documentation of the function to note that this is now required. ........ Matthew Jordan	a2c912e997	media formats: re-architect handling of media for performance improvements In the old times media formats were represented using a bit field. This was fast but had a few limitations. 1. Asterisk was limited in how many formats it could handle. 2. Formats, being a bit field, could not include any attribute information. A format was strictly its type, e.g., "this is ulaw". This was changed in Asterisk 10 (see https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Media+Architecture+Proposal for notes on that work) which led to the creation of the ast_format structure. This structure allowed Asterisk to handle attributes and bundle information with a format. Additionally, ast_format_cap was created to act as a container for multiple formats that, together, formed the capability of some entity. Another mechanism was added to allow logic to be registered which performed format attribute negotiation. Everywhere throughout the codebase Asterisk was changed to use this strategy. Unfortunately, in software, there is no free lunch. These new capabilities came at a cost. Performance analysis and profiling showed that we spend an inordinate amount of time comparing, copying, and generally manipulating formats and their related structures. Basic prototyping has shown that a reasonably large performance improvement could be made in this area. This patch is the result of that project, which overhauled the media format architecture and its usage in Asterisk to improve performance. Generally, the new philosophy for handling formats is as follows: * The ast_format structure is reference counted. This removed a large amount of the memory allocations and copying that was done in prior versions. * In order to prevent race conditions while keeping things performant, the ast_format structure is immutable by convention and lock-free. Violate this tenet at your peril! * Because formats are reference counted, codecs are also reference counted. The Asterisk core generally provides built-in codecs and caches the ast_format structures created to represent them. Generally, to prevent inordinate amounts of module reference bumping, codecs and formats can be added at run-time but cannot be removed. * All compatibility with the bit field representation of codecs/formats has been moved to a compatibility API. The primary user of this representation is chan_iax2, which must continue to maintain its bit-field usage of formats for interoperability concerns. * When a format is negotiated with attributes, or when a format cannot be represented by one of the cached formats, a new format object is created or cloned from an existing format. That format may have the same codec underlying it, but is a different format than a version of the format with different attributes or without attributes. * While formats are reference counted objects, the reference count maintained on the format should be manipulated with care. Formats are generally cached and will persist for the lifetime of Asterisk and do not explicitly need to have their lifetime modified. An exception to this is when the user of a format does not know where the format came from and the user may outlive the provider of the format. This occurs, for example, when a format is read from a channel: the channel may have a format with attributes (hence, non-cached) and the user of the format may last longer than the channel (if the reference to the channel is released prior to the format's reference). Configuration options to chan_sip and chan_pjsip have also been added to allow behavior to be tweaked (such as forcing the AVP type media transports in SDP). Matthew Jordan	365ae7523b	res_http_websocket: Close websocket correctly and use careful fwrite When a client takes a long time to process information received from Asterisk, a write operation using fwrite may fail to write all information. This causes the underlying file stream to be in an unknown state, such that the socket must be disconnected. Unfortunately, there are two problems with this in Asterisk's existing websocket code: 1. Periodically, during the read loop, Asterisk must write to the connected websocket to respond to pings. As such, Asterisk maintains a reference to the session during the loop. When ast_http_websocket_write fails, it may cause the session to decrement its ref count, but this in and of itself does not break the read loop. The read loop's write, on the other hand, does not break the loop if it fails. This causes the socket to get in a 'stuck' state, preventing the client from reconnecting to the server. 2. More importantly, however, is that the fwrite in ast_http_websocket_write fails with a large volume of data when the client takes awhile to process the information. When it does fail, it fails writing only a portion of the bytes. With some debugging, it was shown that this was failing in a similar fashion to ASTERISK-12767. Switching this over to ast_careful_fwrite with a long enough timeout solved the problem. Note that this version of the patch, unlike r417310 in Asterisk 11, exposes configuration options beyond just chan_sip's sip.conf. Jonathan Rose	ae21162a69	chan_sip: Add sendrpid trust options In r411189, some behavior was changed which made sendrpid behavior act in a more trusting manner by sending full user data for peers set with private caller presence in P-Asserted-Identity headers. Since this changed long time expected behaviors, we decided to pull that patch when that was pointed out by the community. Instead, this patch provides a trust_id_outbound setting which will expose the data per RFC-3325 if set to 'yes' and simply not send the PAI/RPID headers at all if set to 'no'. By default trust_id_outbound will be set to 'legacy' which will preserve the behavior prior to these patches. Extra special thanks to Walter Doekes for providing advice and feedback. Matthew Jordan	4f30c7e91f	main/astobj2: Make REF_DEBUG a menuselect item; improve REF_DEBUG output This patch does the following: (1) It makes REF_DEBUG a meneselect item. Enabling REF_DEBUG now enables REF_DEBUG globally throughout Asterisk. (2) The ref debug log file is now created in the AST_LOG_DIR directory. Every run will now blow away the previous run (as large ref files sometimes caused issues). We now also no longer open/close the file on each write, instead relying on fflush to make sure data gets written to the file (in case the ao2 call being performed is about to cause a crash) (3) It goes with a comma delineated format for the ref debug file. This makes parsing much easier. This also now includes the thread ID of the thread that caused ref change. Richard Mudgett	e4803bbd9e	Voicemail: Remove mailbox identifier format (box@context) assumptions in the system. This change is in preparation for external MWI support. Removed code from the system for normal mailbox handling that appends @default to the mailbox identifier if it does not have a context. The only exception is the legacy hasvoicemail users.conf option. The legacy option will only work for app_voicemail mailboxes. The system cannot make any assumptions about the format of the mailbox identifer used by app_voicemail. chan_sip and chan_dahdi/sig_pri had the most changes because they both tried to interpret the mailbox identifier. chan_sip just stored and compared the two components. chan_dahdi actually used the box information. The ISDN MWI support configuration options had to be reworked because chan_dahdi was parsing the box@context format to get the box number. That behavior can possibly cause the registration to be denied because of the different tag, and is not aligned with the intention of RFC 3261 8.1.3.5 "... request constitutes a new transaction and SHOULD have the same value of the Call-ID, To, and From of the previous request...". This updates chan_sip to have a field to keep the local tag in the registration structure and use that tag for registration requests where the callid is also unchanged. Jonathan Rose	7e2a72771d	chan_sip: Reject calls on 200 OKs if no SDP has been received When Asterisk receives a 200 OK in response to an invite, that peer should have sent an SDP at some point by then. If the channel has never received an SDP, media won't have been set and the remote address won't be known. Endpoints in general should not be doing this. This patch makes it so that Asterisk will simply hang up a call if it sends a 200 OK at this point. So far this odd behavior for endpoints has only been observed in tests which involved manually created SIP transactions in SIPp. Lee	9bed50db41	optional_api: Fix linking problems between modules that export global symbols With the new work in Asterisk 12, there are some uses of the optional_api that are prone to failure. The details are rather involved, and captured on [the wiki][1]. This patch addresses the issue by removing almost all of the magic from the optional API implementation. Instead of relying on weak symbol resolution, a new optional_api.c module was added to Asterisk core. For modules providing an optional API, the pointer to the implementation function is registered with the core. For modules that use an optional API, a pointer to a stub function, along with a optional_ref function pointer are registered with the core. The optional_ref function pointers is set to the implementation function when it's provided, or the stub function when it's now. Since the implementation no longer relies on magic, it is now supported on all platforms. In the spirit of choice, an OPTIONAL_API flag was added, so we can disable the optional_api if needed (maybe it's buggy on some bizarre platform I haven't tested on) The AST_OPTIONAL_API() macros themselves remained unchanged, so existing code could remain unchanged. But to help with debugging the optional_api, the patch limits the #include of optional API's to just the modules using the API. This also reduces resource waste maintaining optional_ref pointers that aren't used. Other changes made as a part of this patch: The stubs for http_websocket that wrap system calls set errno to ENOSYS. * res_http_websocket now properly increments module use count. * In loader.c, the while() wrappers around dlclose() were removed. The while(!dlclose()) is actually an anti-pattern, which can lead to infinite loops if the module you're attempting to unload exports a symbol that was directly linked to. * The special handling of nonoptreq on systems without weak symbol support was removed, since we no longer rely on weak symbols for optional_api. David M. Lee	e06e519a90	Initial support for endpoints. An endpoint is an external device/system that may offer/accept channels to/from Asterisk. While this is a very useful concept for end users, it is surprisingly not a core concept within Asterisk itself. This patch defines ast_endpoint as a separate object, which channel drivers may use to expose their concept of an endpoint. As the channel driver creates channels, it can use ast_endpoint_add_channel() to associate channels to the endpoint. This updated the endpoint appropriately, and forwards all of the channel's events to the endpoint's topic. In order to avoid excessive locking on the endpoint object itself, the mutable state is not accessible via getters. Instead, you can create a snapshot using ast_endpoint_snapshot_create() to get a consistent snapshot of the internal state. This patch also includes a set of topics and messages associated with endpoints, and implementations of the endpoint-related RESTful API. chan_sip was updated to create endpoints with SIP peers, but the state of the endpoints is not updated with the state of the peer. Along for the ride in this patch is a Stasis test API. This is a stasis_message_sink object, which can be subscribed to a Stasis topic. It has functions for blocking while waiting for conditions in the message sink to be fulfilled. Prior to this asterisk would refresh at 1/2 the Session-Expires interval, or if the remote device was the refresher, asterisk would timeout at interval end. The information is disclosed when: * A "407 Proxy Authentication Required" response is sent instead of a "401 Unauthorized" response * The presence or absence of additional tags occurs at the end of "403 Forbidden" (such as "(Bad Auth)") * A "401 Unauthorized" response is sent instead of "403 Forbidden" response after a retransmission * Retransmission are sent when a matching peer did not exist, but not when a matching peer did exist. This patch resolves these various vectors by ensuring that the responses sent in all scenarios is the same, regardless of the presence of a matching peer. This issue was reported by Walter Doekes, OSSO B.V. A substantial portion of the testing and the solution to this problem was done by Walter as well - a huge thanks to his tireless efforts in finding all the ways in which this setting didn't work, providing automated tests, and working with Kinsey on getting this fixed. Matthew Jordan	1fb06fde95	Resolve crashes due to large stack allocations when using TCP Asterisk had several places where messages received over various network transports may be copied in a single stack allocation. In the case of TCP, since multiple packets in a stream may be concatenated together, this can lead to large allocations that overflow the stack. This patch modifies those portions of Asterisk using TCP to either favor heap allocations or use an upper bound to ensure that the stack will not overflow: * For SIP, the allocation now has an upper limit * For HTTP, the allocation is now a heap allocation instead of a stack allocation * For XMPP (in res_jabber), the allocation has been eliminated since it was unnecesary. Brent Eagles	ab894d5af9	This change adds a SIP peer configuration feature to allow the peer's configured codecs to take precedence on an outgoing call. This change introduces a new peer configuration property named 'ignore_requested_pref' that causes the requested codec to be ignored when determining the preferred codec for an outgoing call leg.
